Located in the coastal town of Helensburgh, Lomond School is the only boarding school in the west of Scotland which is just about 30 minutes away from Glasgow, the most populous city in Scotland. Academic performance is consistently strong, while Lomond School is a relatively cheaper boarding option at today’s level.

The School follows the Scottish education system and teaches the Scottish Advanced Highers & Scottish Highers in sixth form. In the 2021/22 academic year, it also introduced the International Baccalaureate (IB)! Students studying the Scottish Advanced Highers & Scottish Highers will study five subjects, which is more than what they’d normally do under the A-levels curriculum (ie. three subjects). In the past five years (2018-2022), A-B rates in the Scottish Advanced Highers exams (equivalent to A*-A in GCE A-levels) were between 68% to 90%.

Benefiting from its coastal location in Scotland, Lomond School offers an enviable range of extra-curricular and outdoors activities, including rare options such as archery, skiing, sailing and many more! Throughout the years, sailing has been a popular and strong extra-curricular activity. Today three former pupils sail on the British Olympic team, and two of them will compete in the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympics! Notable alumni include Bonar Law (former British Prime Minister), as well as John Logie Baird (Scottish innovator who invented the world’s first TV and colour TV system).
