Granted full university status in 2012, Falmouth University is one of Britain’s few specialist creative art universities. In addition to the wide range of options in Performing Arts and Visual Arts, Falmouth University now also offers a number of two-year, business-related degrees in Creative Events Management, Digital Marketing and Fashion Marketing. Notable alumni include British visual artist Tacita Dean, new media artist Neil Harbisson, BBC broadcaster Hugh Pym and more!
Falmouth’s Academy of Music & Theatre Arts (AMATA) was formerly the legendary Dartington College of Arts. Since its establishment in 1961, Dartington College of Arts has been known for its avant-garde and experimental approach to dance and theatre and has attracted the attention of influential artists. Some, like Rudolf von Laban (a pioneer in modern dance and dance notation), has even taught at the College. After the merger in 2008, AMATA was moved to the purpose-built campus in its current site and is now offering undergraduate programmes in Acting, Dance & Choreography, as well Music and Theatre Production.
