Dean Close School is an all-through boarding school in the town of Cheltenham in the west of England. Dean Close School now educates about 750 students, with a big boarding community in the senior school where about 60% are boarders. Academic results are outstanding, with A*-B rates in GCE A-levels ranging from 67% to 80% in the five years before the pandemic (2015-2019).
Outside the classroom, Dean Close School provides exciting opportunities with its theatre production, music school and cookery classes! The school-run Close Up Theatre has been a regular act in the Edinburgh Fringe and has obtained the “Sell-Out” status for the past eight years for its box office success! Dean Close School is one of the few co-educational boarding schools that offer certificate courses of the Leiths School of Food & Wine – a good option for aspiring chefs and nutritionists. And the purpose-built music school stages over 50 concerts every year, while the Chapel Choir and Chamber Choir frequent CD recordings.
