Situated in the city centre of the midlands city Leicester, De Montfort University has a strong reputation in Art & Design as well as Architecture. Its School of Design offers a range of finely defined undergraduate programmes in footwear, fashion buying, furniture design, in addition to other niche programmes such as Arts & Festivals Management and some dance and performing arts programmes. De Montfort is very successful in supporting graduate start-ups and is one of the 20 most successful universities in that aspect. Students with their portfolio are welcome to meet with academic staff from the School of Art for portfolio assessment. Students will be admitted on the spot if their portfolio is able to fulfill entry requirement.
