All students are required to present an art portfolio when they apply for an art & design programme. What makes a good portfolio? What kinds of works should be included and what shouldn’t? How should you present your portfolio? Should you write an explanation or let the work speak for itself?
In the seminar, Renata Grant, Course Leader of Art Foundation in Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts (CSVPA), will introduce all the basics of art portfolios, provide examples and share what expectation art schools have in their students:

After the Seminar, students are welcome to meet with Renata Grant for admission interview, portfolio assessment, or simply come to seek advices from the teacher! If requirement is met, students will be issued offers of a place in a suitable programme.

No matter you’re a British or an international student, if you’d like to study in a creative art & design degree in the UK, it’s likely that you need a year of foundation training before you obtain the high level of art skills that art & design degrees in the UK require.
The art foundation at Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts (CSVPA) is officially accredited by the University of the Arts London Awarding Body and is a specially designed programme aiming to prepare students for top art schools. With as many as 25 hours of art & design modules and 10 subject specialism to choose from, students will be able to find the right combination of modules that can match their interest. Years after years Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts (CSVPA) has produced some very impression records of student progression. In the past seven cohorts (2012-2018), 178 graduates made it to University of the Arts London (UAL) including Central St Martins, one of its most famous colleges, while others went on to study at other famous art schools in the UK and Europe such as Glasgow School of Art, Goldsmiths, Kingston and Istituto Marangoni.
